"MODERN VINTAGE STYLE"..MY LATEST NEW BOOK~~& MY NEW GLASSES!!

Well today i was very happy to receive my latest "BOOK" acquisition...

"MODERN VINTAGE STYLE" by Emily Chalmers..

It is GORGEOUS! looking forward to sitting down & reading, but thought i would show you some photos taken from this book...

A MUST HAVE for the vintage/junk lover!!

I am off to New Zealand on thursday with my eldest son for a few days, so am looking forward to some OP SHOPPING..~~

I have my list ready...son will drive me around ..(well that is the plan anyway)...

I was starting to clean the house (as i cannot go away & leave a messy place!)...but guess what??

too many orders on ebay re my crochet medallion listings, so I am busy busy cutting these out this friday afternoon!! (as i had listed them without having cut them all out)...

Last but not least, i finally have my NEW black/academic inspired (lol) reading glasses...

your thoughts??

DON'T YA JUST HATE IT WHEN YOU STEP ON YOUR READING GLASSES!!??

I think i must be in a "mode" of breaking things??

whilst cleaning the kitchen the other day, I accidently knocked a few goodies off their shelves..

And low and behold, I have stood on my "ever necessary" reading glasses, and smashed them to smitherines!!~~

So i am struggling with a replacement pair my lovely optometrist lent me until this Monday where I shall be getting a NEW pair of reading glasses...

(the replacements are those in the 1st photo)...

DAGGEY HEY??

I am going to opt for a nice/academic type BLACK frame for my new glasses...

what do you think??

I literally CANNOT read a thing without my "goggles" anymore...

& I must say these replacement ones are giving me a bit of a headache..

so if the spelling in this blog and or my ebay listings is not up to my usual HIGH standards (lol)..I am blaming these substitute glasses~~

I kind of look like the MAD WOMAN FROM BORNEO?? with them on..~~~~

KITCHEN RE ARRANGE ~~~& 25th Wedding Anniversary~

I cannot believe that I have the flu...

I haven't had a cold in years and years...

BUT just when my eldest son came home to visit for the weekend, I was struck down in one FELL swoop~~~

Oh well, he was happy to stay home and catch up on his study whilst watching tv with me...

I am feeling a tad better, but find it hard to lay in bed...

I JUST CANNOT DO IT...

so when i am feeling down, i just have to CLEAN~~~

So my kitchen has been blessed with another BIG change around...(in between my coughing & spluttering & breaking a few goodies to boot!!~)..

I was tired with the section of my wall painted blackboard with NOTHING written on it, so I have taped some black/white paper images I had, interspersed with my CROCHET doilies/medallions..

AS I AM the QUEEN of crochet medallion listings on ebay!!~~~lol...

AND this will keep reminding me to KEEP CUTTING medallions~~

a little inspiration board.......

also placed a few of my vintage music sheet butterflies I had previously cut out..

A bit of a CHANGE is a little PINK corner...

(with two cute vintage little egg cups my auntie sent down to me..along with a crochet cloth of course)...

I have also used as a decor item my BIG LOT of vintage music sheet/french pages BALLS I had covered...

& my cards covered in french music sheets & crochet centres..

in the shape of a dress ...

Now to tackle other rooms in a complete MESS!!~~

Not today though...I have HAD IT~~

maybe i shall go back to cutting up some crochet medallions!!!

ps...the 20th July is our 25th wedding anniversary (good lord time flies)...

Hubby is overseas, so I wonder if he will remember??)

NOT holding my breath..~~~~~~~~~

CROCHET BITS & PIECES WEDNESDAY...& MORE..~~~~

Well another busy day CUTTING lots of my vintage crochet cloths/doilies ...

to sell on ebay..

LOTS of circles/medallions cut up...

CREAM/ECRU/WHITE...

As well as being EXCITED with my eldest son coming HOME for a few days...

he lives interstate..

I have been busy cleaning his room...

leaving chocolates on his bed etc..little gifts..

I GET Excited when he comes home..maybe three times a year I see him..??

YEAH~~~~~~~~~

(we are BOTH off to AUCKLAND NZ ..in two weeks..so shall keep you updated on our little venture...son is off to the RUGBY...i want to source OP SHOPS)!!~~

I just received the LATEST ISSUE of the GORGEOUS JEANNE D'ARC magazine...

I have SOME exciting NEWS to tell in the near future about JEANNE D'ARC & their products..

so stay tuned whilst I finalise some details...~~~~

MONDAY'S PORK & CHIVE DUMPLINGS...DONNA HAY..

Well another cold wintery day here in Melbourne which i am not liking too much...

Last evening my hubby made a wonderful minestrone soup for dinner, and we are having the "leftovers" again tonight...

BUT i am adding a little twist with an entree of "pork & chive dumplings"...

This is an easy peasey recipe from the latest...

"DONNA HAY Kid's magazine ANNUAL"...

( i have to admit i quite like LOTS of the kids recipes in this mag...great for adults tooo~~)..

So I have made these dumplings..

READY to steam in the bamboo steamer...

THEY look pretty good..so hopefully they will taste as good??~

RECIPE...

oil...

150 gms cabbage sliced thinly...

1 tbs oyster sauce..

250 gms pork mince..

1 egg white..

tablespoon chopped chives..

wrappers...(gow gee)??

contentious issue here.....couldn't find them in the supermarket Chinese section...

(so i did ask..& found similar in the COLES section where the fresh pasta/garlic bread etc is kept)..

photos show what I bought...

sweet chilli to serve...

cook cabbage until soft in the oil...

add the oyster sauce (how much you want)...stir around/mix..

put the mince/egg white/chives/cooked cabbage in a bowl & mix together,..

Then just place bits of the mixture in the wraps....

Fold over..

VOILA....place in a steamer...& then steam for about 5 minutes...

I tested ONE and it is DELICIOUS!!~~

I LOVE EASY cooking which tastes SCRUMPTIOUS!!~~~

THURSDAY"S LOVE OF "EARLY CHEER"~~~~"ERLICHEER"??

Busy giving the house a clean this cold, wintery Thursday in Melbourne....

(as i have had to wait in for the guys to come to FIX the heating!!!

which unfortunately "carked" it the other evening)~~~

So to brighten one's spirits, some lovely Early Cheer flowers are in order throughout..

or "ERLICHEER" according to the Burke's Backyard website!!! WHATEVER..!!

as well as burning a lovely candle in a vintage cup & saucer...

(all smells will probably quickly dissipate when i put the corned beef on for dinner)..

But that is a YUMMY smell indicating a scrumptious dinner??
