VINTAGE ANTIQUE LINEN FRIDAY..& UPDATE ON DAD!!~~~

Hello again ladies...

Well I have been busy as usual!!

I took dad back into hospital yesterday to have his knee manipulated after his "failed" new knee surgery...

The doctor was confident they could rectify it and get him back on track...

He sounded very good when he rang me this morning and they managed to get a 100 degree bend in his knee under surgery...(so i think that is good not being soo good at maths??)...

I kind of had to ask dad (who was an engineer..what is 100 degrees?? what do you mean dad??)...... okay..dad loves maths...!!

ohh!!! I dont take after dad!!~~~~

so he did explain this angle...which does now sound pretty good to me!!

he shall be in hospital for about 10 days & then come back to our home for more recovery/physio etc..

soo i am just soo relieved it has gone well thus far..
I havent been able to sleep much worrying about my gorgeous dad...seeing him NOT looking his handsome self..

SOOOO....~~~~~~~

I have been busy today still getting ready for my JUNK fair..!!

today I was going through my VINTAGE LOT of linen/lace/doilies/aprons..etc..

I am going to display them on coathangers on a wonderful clothes hanger..display item I purchased from "target" yrs ago...has two layers...adjustable..so is perfect to display goodies...!!

this is all being set up in the room downstairs as my little "preview"..pricing centre..!!& packing area.....so is a tad "AD HOC" but effective!!

I found a GORGEOUS FAUX SILK & PEARL curtain for just $5.00 at a local shop...so am thinking how to USE this (and a few more) in my display...

I LOVE IT..And i can peg lots of gorgeous little goodies onto this re a display having already practised...with some vintage music sheets & other goodies....and it looks fabulous..~~~

I have still SOOOO MUCH stuff to go through....but keeps me a busy little BEE!!~~~~~

I haven't mentioned gorgeous "SOOTY" for a while..(my 11 yo toy poodle..who still acts like a PUPPY but is nearly blind now..OOOOOOOHHHHH)!!

anyway...whilst i am up the BACK of my house ironing the linen...organising "stuff"...he is sitting on the top of the stairs...looking down at me...watching what i am doing (even thou nearly blind!!)...with his cute little rooster plastic toy next to him..

HOW CUTE!!~~~

okay off to do a bit more work & with my hubby home this weekend... for ONCE!!! so YES!!!
he is going to drive me ALL OVER MELBOURNE in search of VINTAGE FINDS!!!

Have a lovely weekend ladies...

BUSY SATURDAY...PAINTING/STENCILLING & DYEING LINEN!!!

Hello ladies....I have been busy getting some more bits & bobs ready for my JUNK fair..

I am endeavouring to get MOST of want I want to sell organised...& then be able to figure out what to list on ebay..LET alone my NEW WEBSITE..."The Vintage Hatbox"...(still in development ....BUT nearly there!!)...~~~~~

so I am taking things ONE step at a time...& you know what...??

for ONCE i am making some progress!!! well in my eyes anyway...!~~~~~~

I have had this little cupboard for ages and it was a deep salmon colour...

I have painted it white (photos show it PINK??...but it is definately white UNLESS i am totally colour blind!!)..

I have painted the drawer "DULUX Island SEA"...I kind of just had a fetish for this colour..which is a kind of deep sea blue colour...

(so i think with the time of day & my less than perfect camera..photos are NOT accurate re colour...but hope you get the drift of what i am doing/done)...~~

I have stencilled paper doileys over door...

Painted some canvases & stencilled similar doiley patterns on them..in alternate colours..AND I hand dyed some vintage lace doilies to match the DULUX colour...
(they have turned out a treat...almost the same colour)!!!

SO I have had quite a productive saturday...from painting...stencilling paper doilies...dyeing linen...& collecting the GORGEOUSLY CUTE VINTAGE LITTLE ladder I purchased on ebay to use as a display item re my fair...

amongst looking after dad & cooking...!!!

ORGANISING MY VINTAGE FLEA JUNK MARKET STALL!!

Hello again ladies..

I am still getting ready for the wonderful VINTAGE SHABBY FLEA MARKET extravaganza fair which I am a stall holder in August...in Melbourne...

I still have dad staying with us and looking after him until he has to go back into hospital next thursday to try to fix his knee...

so whilst home I am kind of getting things organised for this fair..

Whilst I did own a gift shop for some 10 years...actually displaying at a fair as such IS A MUCH bigger task than ONE may realise..

Okay..when I had my shop...items were delivered...had heaps of space to unpack...price..display...

OMG...with a fair...I have all items at home....trying to THINK of how i could/can display gorgeous goodies in a 3 x 2 metre space...!!

How I transport all items from home to the location?? truck?ute?...trailer??

How I make my stall look totally awesome??

AND how to display my goods?? on tables..?? sideboards?? etc etc..

It is soo much MORE involved than I think anyone really imagines...

sooo that is what I am working on...at the minute...

re display ..... what i am selling..pricing etc...

photos are JUST a HINT of what I am intending to sell...

displayed on my table tennis table..in the middle room of my home.. so as i can visualise & price at the same time..

It is a BIG PROCESS indeed!~~~~~~~~~

hoping NOT too boring for you ladies to read through.!!!

HAND SEWN VINTAGE WHITE HANKERCHIEF BUNTING!! I HAVE BEEN BUSY!!

Hi ladies....another little goodie i worked on today...!!~~~~~

Had heaps of VINTAGE white hankies...& bought some white cotton edging..

OKAY...this was an AD HOC....spur of the MOMENT..

"how do i make a bunting with VINTAGE hankerchiefs??

I placed the "cotton" edging flat....pinned 5 x vintage hankies thereon...(i ironed them to be in half...so the FULL hanky is used per each "flag")...

My sewing machine is tucked away in my wardrobe & i havent used it for at least 12 years...
And YEs I am a total woos & far too scared to bring it out to try to sew anything..

SOO I sewed all the hankies by HAND...

finished off with VINTAGE cream/white buttons along the way...

This is the first of a FEW mixed lot I am intending to make for my SHABBY FLEA JUNK FAIR in AUgust....

I am quite happy with the result...(& the fact that it is hand sewn!! cough cough...that makes it legitimate in my eyes..NOT PERFECT...if you get my drift)..

anyway...what do you think??
ALL comments are welcome...

ps...dad is still hobbling along...fingers crossed his new surgery next week is succesful...
