TUESDAY'S VINTAGE FINDS & OTHER THINGS!!~~

Hi ladies, well I did a little run to the op shop today to give them some goodies..

BUT came away with a little more!!~~

Love this rosey vase/JUG......lovely detailing & such a cute cute shape at just $5.00..

can see some nice flowers in this little delight...

Plus I purchased a very heavy marble topped pedestal table..lovely wooden curvy legs just needing a little paint makeover...

JUST $10.00~~~

Heaps of vintage crochet cloths and doilies...

PLUS I am listing on ebay some of my cut up crochet circles and presenting them in a nice paper cupcake case with some string...??

so a busy tuesday...

VINTAGE SEWING PATTERNS CHRISTMAS WRAPPING!~~

Hi ladies.....

a few posts ago I mentioned I was going to wrap my CHRISTMAS presents this year in VINTAGE sewing patterns...

I found a HEAP of patterns the other day at the OP shop in Geelong for JUST 20 cents per packet...

SOO THIS IS the START of my pressie wrapping....(only 2 at this stage as I cannot quite get into the Christmas MOJO just yet)!!!

I think they look good...TIED with some string...

& MUCH MUCH cheaper than traditional christmas wrap???

may do some with lots of sheet music as well..

anyway...what do you think???

MY CHRISTMAS TREE ?? COLLAGE..BUTTONS/LINEN/LACE..

Hi ladies, well it was a magnificent day here in Melbourne today and cos I was feeling sooo much better...

Tennis was on MY agenda!! (first time in a week!)..

I am still feeling in some "MAD" crafting frenzy, so I made another lot of the air dry tags today...

BUT this time I stamped them with my gorgeous little set of Japanese Katakana symbols...(purchased from etsy)...

if they work out I shall show you the results..they look pretty good at the minute)....

I have never stamped something into these air dry tags before...!!

these are for my son to give to a japanese girl friend...(not girlfriend!!)..coming to stay with him for a few days next week...!!

I also did a "collage" of items occupying my interests at the minute..

from vintage crochet...doilies...buttons...butterflies!...my love of all things French...

So i bought an artists canvas..

tea stained it...

roughly drew the shape of a CHRISTMAS tree in a container...(although doesn't really look like it??)..

then just embellished with Lots of little bits & pieces suiting my mood at the moment..

staple gunned a big crochet edging from a tablecloth on either side to hang it..

MMM!!~~ what project tomorrow??

maybe CLEANING from ALL the MESS i have made over the last week!!~~

SUNDAY'S LOVE OF PAPER BUTTERFLIES!!! & other things!!!~~

Hi ladies...

I am in a kind of "crafting" mood these last few days..?? maybe cos i have been sick just moping around somewhat...

BUT today the "drugs" /penicillin have kicked in & i am ALMOST back to normal except no hearing in my right ear!!~~

MMM!! hope the drops kick in soon..

ANYWAY...

TODAY I was in a BUTTERFLY mood...???

so what does that mean??

okay....I have a metal butterfly gorgeous tin hanging thingey...

I have used this as a template...

several posts ago i mentioned a "wallpaper" book i bought for $20.00..

It has heaps of gorgeous replicated wallpaper...containing A4 sheets....

So i wripped out some pages.....(don't be scared..just DO it..)...

put the template on...traced around...

cut out...

folded in half...

& stuck end result on my kitchen blackboard....(half finished)..

SOO I have a nice BUTTERFLY blackboard...??

also dyed lots of crochet cloths..

cut out the circles...

embellished with some other little crochet centres..

& they look soo cute...(listed on ebay)...

soo I have had a busy Sunday...

FRIDAY'S KNITTING & CROSS STITCHING!!~~~~~

Hi ladies ... a lovely pleasant day here in Melbourne today and I have achieved a bit of "CRAFTING"..~~~

No tennis & still just lying on 'the couch" .... BUT I have achieved a bit??

Knitted & sewed BIGGISH flowers/rosettes??~~~....

the base/bottom part of the rosette, I knitted in a nice rich red CHENILLE yarn...

(as it was a very thick yarn & very kind of yukky to knit , i altered the pattern a tad to make it easier to knit , and it did eventuate as a NICE BIG FLOWER/rosette.....

I then sewed other rosettes (as I call them!)...which I had knitted the other day...embellished a bit more..

to achieve a 3 x tiered BIG ROSETTE..??

great to add a brooch to the back??

Place on top of a xmas pressie??

OR as my mum would want...TO embellish one of her 100's of berets she has!!!

Soo I am quite happy with the result of these knitted goodies....

after lots of twisting & turning of my fab "cath kidston" wooden knitting needles...

passing slip stitches over...knitting 2 stitches together etc..

(my mum came to see me today...dad was here of course early to check "me out"..& mum was constantly talking whilst I was trying to count what stitches I had slipped/passed over/turned around...)...

Love you mum...BUT i had to COUNT what i was doing otherwise a slipped/lost stitch is a "NO NO"~~~~~~

Anyway...I also cross stitched in grey thread on cream 14 count Aida cloth...

the letter "A".....

I have LOTS of little cross stitch themed goodies to do in this colour scheme...

then frame in some gorgeous vintage frames I have..which I intend to paint in black chalkboard paint!!!

(well that is the EVENTUAL plan...)....

LOVELY GOODIES WHICH CHEERED ME UP TODAY!!

Hi again ladies, I am sure you will be truly sick & tired of me posting every other day!! and when looking through my last few posts they all kind of started off... with "not feeling too well/lethargic" etc..

OOhh!! I am a bit embarassed by those comments starting off a blog..

Anyway today I received TWO packages of lovely goodies I had ordered from overseas last week...

1..ARTFUL BLOGGING magazine...BUT included were a gorgeous lot of vintage inspired Easter cards & lots of fab lace..

ALL from the lovely JO from goddess*of*the*last*minute EBAY store..

I had ordered the mag..BUT ALL THE extras were SUCH A Wonderful/delightful surprise...

2..My goodies I ordered from an ETSY store..FABULOUS VELVET letters...the cutest/tiniest little "numeral" stamps...(CANNOT wait to use these!!)..

they actually photo much bigger than they are...they are MINUTE!!~~

cardboard tags etc...little "hand made" stickers...& A FAB STAMP set of JAPANESE letters to send to my son who is a Japanese lingo guru!! (or sort of)..!!!!

thought they would be a lovely pressie for him re xmas to stamp stuff n that!!~~

Okay...I did go to the doctor's today as my throat has been sooo very sore & my right ear brought me to tears with the pain..

SOO I am taking THESE BIG TABLETS...(how do you swallow these..?? cut in half i guess)..

PLUS ear drops...(I think i have nearly emptied the bottle in ONE fell swoop as the ache was horrid!!)..

feeling better at the minute... (hope it lasts!!)....

gee wiz.. DRUGS kick in quickly!!~~

BUSY KNITTING TODAY...SORE THROAT!! & A FAB BIG NEW MAGAZINE!!

Hi ladies, well i am still feeling NOT my normal self..sore throat etc/not motivated & completely lethargic...

Even cancelled my tennis this morning...

so i have just been watching tv...

knitting some "rosettes'...(not fully finished them off...but knitted quite a few)..

when I had to venture down the shopping centre to get some groceries (mr C has been overseas for 2 weeks...coming home tonight....so dinner will be required!!)/\..

purchased A BIG THICK just released fab magazine..

"SPACES...by FRANKIE magazine..

where creative people live, work & play"...gorgeous pictures....

lots of VINTAGE stuff ...goodies..

just shown a few..

inspirational & full of gorgeous vintage home decor...

IS STUNNING...(but about $23.00 dollars)...

still well worth a look...& a keeper for ideas...
