FRIDAY'S VINTAGE FINDS~~~~~~~~

Hello ladies...

Well dad is home after his knee operation & I am more than busy looking after him.

This operation was much tougher than the last knee (as more wear on this knee)..so he is a tad behind with his progress...

Has lost heaps of weight/body tone & colour...SO i am pampering him NON STOP!!

as such I have cancelled all tennis lessons etc & only "zip" around the street to get groceries whilst he lies still on the couch with SOOTY!! (under STRICT instructions NOT to move until I get back home)....as our house has lots of stairs which would be pretty treacherous for him to navigate solo...even with his walker...

BUT having NOT listed anything on ebay for ages & not been junk market hunting I had a tad WITHDRAWAL this morning..

Having positioned DAD on the couch with his nice view of Melbourne...sooty at his side...a cuppa tea..the newspaper.....I quickly zipped up the road to a great little op shop & found the following...(per photos)...

MY SATURDAY DELIGHTS..!! BRINGING A SMILE TO MY FACE..

Hello ladies....just a little post to share with you about what is making my SATURDAY bringing a smile to my face..

With winter in australia just a few days away now...the wonderful JONQUILS are just starting to hit the market...

SOO of course i had to buy some bunches and place them in my left over (washed!!) tin cans..tied with some string...

(hey..re my last post..more scales have been added!!)..~~ soo they are sitting with some of these scales...!!

PLUS with this season my favourite ALL time fruit is in abundance right now...MANDARINS...!!! (& i eat the skin as well!!! well some pieces..NOT all)...

AND I purchased my brand new TENNIS runners which have been on order for a few months now...as my old ones have worn out..

CHECK out the sexy MAROON colour??? what do ya think??...

whilst down the street a friend reminded me they match my glasses!!!

(a skirt matching is apparently on the horizon to come into the sports store)..~~

AND I have kind of gone a bit TIN BIRD psycho..?? a few posts ago i showed my new laptop/ebay/table blogging arrangement with some tin birds hanging from my centre piece..

Well i found a few NEW tin birds & a butterfly tucked away in my "ebay" room...so they have been added to this little tree branch...(which is now leaning far way to the right with the extra weight!)...

HEY!! leaning to THE RIGHT!!! nudge nudge wink wink!! re the election...~~~~just realised what I kind of said...??? shall leave it there!!!

AND in my bathroom I had a blank space left when removing a picture etc...SOO I went to KIMS shop (the white artichoke) the other day & bought two lovely cream tin birds...& i have hung them up on the vacant hook with differing blue ribbon that i have..

AND last but NOT least...lovely little photo of my gorgeous SOOTY (my 11yo toy poodle for bloggers who have no idea what I am talking about)..

ps...my dad is still in hospital re his new knee op...hopefully coming home to MOIS this wednesday..?? going well...but has lost weight & colour again...which i guess is associated with lying in a hospital bed...hardly able to move for 3 weeks...(would HATE to think what I would look like???)~~~~~

Great grouped together...

I have a couple in my bathroom with some soaps in their dish..

I have shown some which I have in my kitchen...

I am continually ADDING to this collection!!!

BOY!! HOW TIME LITERALLY FLIES..LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!

Hello ladies...hope you are all having a fabulous productive week??

Well today is my eldest son's 23rd birthday...AND quite by accident whilst searching through boxes & stuff....(with the BIG clean out continuing).

I found this BIG THICK HARDCOVOURED book that i used to write in...& MR B would try to copy....re learning the alphabet....numbers etc...

It started when he was in prep at age 5.......& going through a few years when HE LOVED the X FILES show...

& signed his brother up to a "contract" to star in HIS movie version of the same!!

WELL....how funny is that...?? as MR B is now about to graduate with his law degree..

& maybe specialising in contract/media law...

SOO he has gone from hardly able to read/write....(as a little preppie)....

TO becoming a fully fledged lawyer...hopefully eventually working in a TOKYO LAW office speaking his japanese...

also... Dont you just love childrens naive drawings...are they NOT the BEST???

thats ME in the pink dress???!!! never wear PINK...but what the hec??

anyway...enough ramblings from a proud OLD mum...

ps....my dad sounds better today...hopefully going to the rehab section to work on his new knee...

HOME DUTIES TUESDAY!! RE ARRANGING & MORE RE ARRANGING!!!

Thanks ladies for your lovely concerns re my dad's knee operation...He is still quite "groggy" when i speak to him/visit him..

I guess that is to be expected with a BIG new KNEE operation at 86 years old..

But of course I am still really worried about him & miss his DAILY trips to my house..sitting in his chair reading the paper whilst I am on the internet nearby...& with lots of friends "tooting" their horn at him as they pass by our house..

I took him in a big bowl of STEW & heaps of BIG BANANAS on saturday...so I think he is gobbling them up!!

SOO when I am stressed...I just have TO CLEAN...(okay I clean even when NOT stressed)!!!~~~~

BUT today was one of those days where I have shifted/moved lots of stuff around..from framed photos...to my "dried roses"...

& I have started on my "MAD MAX" display...A wonderful ICONIC AUSSIE MOVIE...which is very close to my heart....

soo..thats been my day...GORGEOUS SUNNY weather...PERFECT! late AUTUMN MELBOURNE DAY~~~~~~

ps...a friend of mine has a gorgeous chic little FRENCH shop in williamstown called "THE WHITE ARTICHOKE"...she has JUST started a blog today...HER FIRST ever...& hasnt got it ALL organised as yet...

Guess who is giving her advice?? (YEP ME!!...no wonder its NOT organised!!)!!~~~

BUT her shop is SOOO Cute...FULL of GORGEOUS goodies...AT A great price...

SO it would be awesome to have a little peek at her blog...& support her over the next week or so whilst she gets it organised...& looking FAB....
