SNEAK PEAK OF MY DECORATING FOR MUM'S 88th BIRTHDAY next week~~~~~~~~~~

Hi ladies..well it is absolutely pouring down here in Melbourne today, which is a great shame with the races on at Flemington...DERBY DAY~~~

all the ladies would have gone dressed in "their finest" attire, only to be met by rain (which I have to say is still kind of a "noveltly" here in Melbourne having had soooo many years of draught & no rain..

Nevertheless, I have been busy INSIDE preparing for mum's 88th birthday surprise party on Tuesday 2nd november...MELBOURNE CUP DAY!!~~~

Today was "DECOR" day...getting the table/kitchen area ready..looking nice etc..

Lots of pink flowers/buntings/bows/rose petals/vintage plates/vintage rose placemats/plates/lollies/cath kidston napkins/my PINK DYED DOILIES/crochet goodies of course are in the mix!!!.. etc etc~~~~

trying to make it look very pink/feminine/girly/floral/flowery for mum...

busy tying pink crepe paper into bows on Each of the chairs..with material with PEARLS & little pink/white paper flags in the mix?

COOKING tomorrow & MONDAY & tuesday morning ..

sandwiches...cupcakes... petit fours...lamingtons...mini sausage rolls..chicken wings...orange cake...nut loaves...scones...mini quiches...are ALL on the menu...

I shall be a busy little bee??....

I would have shown some more photos but am still using my old laptop with my other one ready to be picked up re my mishap shoving a disc into it..

It makes me realise HOW AWESOME my other laptop is...

this one is just too hard to navigate ....

anyway...hope you like the few photos i have been able to show on this computer!!

RE DECORATING MY WORK SPACE..

Hi ladies...it is a beautiful sunny day here in Melbourne this Sunday & being home alone I am re arranging/cleaning my work space..

This table is actually in one of our front rooms so i sit at my computer looking at the GORGEOUS Melbourne skyline/ships/yachts etc..

BUT even with THAT fab view, I still like to have "nice" things immediately IN FRONT of me on the table....in front of my laptop!!

So today i have added the folder of my Jeanne D'arc mags..(HOW I LOVE THESE)..thanks TRACEY from FRENCH LARKSPUR who sells these...

my lovely dried peony roses ....inspirational images...& other bits & bobs...

So I am enjoying my little clean up!!

AS I have about 15 friends/relatives organised for mum's 88th birthday on CUP DAY.. (2nd NOVEMBER)...so the house has to look nice & clean..!!!

a few posts ago i commented on how much I loved being able to listen to music on my computer...

SOO I tried to upload or download?? what tha?? disc & I have put it in upside down...

STUFFED my computer..

SO i have to venture to CHADSTONE shopping centre this week to the APPLE STORE to have it fixed...

OH WELL!!!

I guess the UPSIDE is I can do.. & I mean REALLY "DO".. a lot of serious shopping damage at CHADSTONE..??~~~~~

ps...had MR SOOTY clipped this week so he has gone from looking like OSCAR the grouch from Sesame street to a REALISTIC POODLE!!~~ he is too cute with his big fluffy ears sitting with legs crossed on the top of the couch...

& lastly...what a lovely little cushion MR C bought me for my birthday last week..

french CHIC calico..it is sitting quite comfortably on the couch (which I have just cleaned with leather cleaner & it has come up beautifully!!)...

GORGEOUS NEW SHOP IN MY LITTLE PART OF THE WORLD...JUST BEAUTIFUL!!

Hi ladies...well I am continuing with my little "thing" of featuring gorgeous shops in my little part of melbourne..

My friend Jane has just moved her shop from one part of Williamstown to another...

BUT with a name change so it is now..."Willowchild"...

OMG!! I just wish I had YOUNG children again AS THIS SHOP IS JUST AWESOME!!

gorgeous clothes...accessories...DIVINE ORIGINAL ARTWORK...(contemplating buying one for my "ebay" room)...

FOR BOTH BOYS & GIRLS...

This shop is quite breathtaking in its display...quality of goods..

Jane has done such a fabulous job re locating..

I shall let the photos speak for themselves...

RE DECORATING MY ENTRANCE HALL...& CHANGING "DANGEROUS" LIGHT GLOBES!!~~

Hi ladies..well i think you can tell my the colour of this font I am in a little bit of a purple mood/decor wise that is!!!

Okey dokey...!! today was a bit of a clean up day (what's new)??

But really the entrance hall was just a mess as I had only dusted AROUND bits & pieces...

SOOO TODAY was the day when i took all things off the sideboard ...dusted & maybe bought a few NEW little bits!!

My entrance hall has the very very FIRST PIECE of antique furniture my hubby & I purchased with MY superannuation payment!!!!~~ (how funny is that)..

When I left a certain profession to have my FIRST child...I had about $4500.00 in super saved...& back in the "dark ages" one was allowed to access it...!!

SO we bought this delightful chiffoneur (oohh..not sure how to spell that)..?

ANYWAY it has been part of the furniture for some 25 years...& it is in our entrance hall..

I get SICK & TIRED of the way I decorate it...as you do..??

Soo i kind of went a TAD purple...deep purple runner...some lovely faux purple/green hydrangeas..(like or hate fake flowers..I don't care really anymore)..

re jigged some of the photos....

(this is MR C's domain...you know the 2nd kid syndrome?? why has Mr B got ALL his certificates/achievements on a wall & not me??)...

OKAY Mr C...a few years ago I over compensated with the ENTRANCE HALL FULL of HIS achievements..photos...(he was/is happy) & I ain't changing it!!~~

BUT i tweaked it a bit today...

stapled some vintage fabric to a canvas...(hung that up)..changed the photos around..new purple runner..some purple candle holders...

added some 20 odd year old lovely purple & green silk cushions I have had stored away..

purchased from KAYE PYKES original store in Port MElbourne...Years & years ago....(boy how awesome was that store??)...

Changed the light globes in this FAR TOO HIGH hanging light...OOHH had to do that hanging from the edge of the stairs..

Bit scary...but all good in the end..as I didn't FALL off the stairs!!!~~

PLUS I bought my mum's present today from the wonderful gift shop here in williamstown...called....

"LOVE IT"..~~~

LOOK at the gorgeous wrapping Jill did for mums pressie...

I think these colours will now be THE THEME for mums suprise 88th birthday..

anyway...Hope I am NOT boring you all with my ... may I say..becoming a bit too regular blog listings..??

(ps...I have been a tad slack leaving messages on blogs...sorry..I read & then figure i will leave a message a bit later...hey its a FEW days later & i am still a NAUGHTY blogger leaver of NO messages!!~~)...UUGGGHHH!!~~~
