THIS IS A REAL TIME WARP!! LOOK WHAT I HAVE NOW FOUND!! HOW CUTE?? FUNNY??

Hello AGAIN ladies...

I feel quite guilty doing YET another post soo soon after yesterdays & the day before..!!

I have literally gone overboard re posting..

BUT whilst still cleaning up my "ebay" room .. per yesterdays post..

LOOK what I found hidden in the back of my hutch!!

THREE of my OLD school PROJECT books dating back to when i was in grade 2...(i skipped prep...so i would have been about 6 yo...soo 1963)..

PLUS there is one from 1968..BIG girl then!!

fascinating reading...the "whispering T jet"...Japanese olympic games (byron would love that one)..the australian way of life!!

PLUS my one & only swimming certificate...THE HERALD..I swam 25 yards in 1968!!! and guess which stroke that was???
SOOTY would be PROUD of me...YES and I kid you not...it was DOG PADDLE!!!
these were very SIMPLISTIC yet lovely days as a child...OBVIOUSLY!!!
the old school folder...covered in brown paper...with a cut out of something or other glued to the front..
MY dad wrote my NAME in lovely clear print..with my grade next to it..AND OF course UNDERLINED...
we would cut out pictures from mags/newspapers relevant to what we were writing about...and then "CLAG" them fast...
quite primitive in todays technology...(back then..no internet..no computers..no mobile phones...black white tv with 4 channels which turned off at midnight...etc etc..)..
SIMPLE BUT JUST SOOO MEMORABLE as a little girl growing up..

Just thought you YOUNGER lovely blogging ladies would laugh at "THE OLD" times...

AND you other lovely ladies..."MORE MY AGE" .. cough cough...would reminisce.

PROMISE..no more blogs for a few days..OR until I unearth another treasure!!

xx andrea

No not cough... coughing - just saying a few "Awhhhh's" to myself - the fact we kept our certificates - I still have mine too - My kids wouldn't bother keeping anything - unless of course it's on a CD or Memory Stick - "What Keep something on Paper" Nah!!
Congratulations on your 100th Post!!!

Gee you are like my Hubby!
He has old report cards, assignments and certificates.
I love that kind of memorabillia.
I even make clag type scrapbooks now of my kids paintings!
You must have one big house for all the goodies you keep unearthing...lol!
And why worry how often you post!
Blogs are about the person writing them,Those who read ,do so because they want to!
Some blogs on my sidebar post upto three times a day!
I have trouble thinking up what to post about!

I just delivered to my son 30 years worth of letters, writings, documents & so on ... that I had saved for him ... he seemed pleased.

Our Joshua has an absolute FIT if I save anything ... 'I have memories', he firmly states. I say 'your children would love to share the things that we have given to you, or that you have created/written'! He also has this notion that cards/flowers are a waste of money ... I say 'when you get married your wife will show you quite differently'. Chuckle! Hope I live long enough to see this day. TTFN ~ Marydon
