STILL WORKING ON MY GOODIES FOR THE "SHABBY VINTAGE JUNK" FAIR...

I am still "flat out" painting and organising goodies for the up coming....

"SHABBY VINTAGE JUNK EXTRAVAGANZA"...

I have been painting....MOD PODGING....and everything else !!~~

I had a lovely BIG white vintage frame with a ballet print inside..

Took out the print..

& the glass...

& bought some framing wire...(got my dad to staple gun it for me)..

& Have hung some GORGEOUS VINTAGE doilies therefrom...

Bundled up lots of vintage books...tied with vintage crochet cloth edgings..

'De- nuded" some others & tied with string..

re painted a cute little cabinet ....& embellished with doilies & buttons..

SO it is now "THE VINTAGE DOILEY CABINET"!!~~

Lots happening...& starting to take some shape...

now off to do some more bits & pieces..

CROCHET DOILIES & WHITE PAINT!!~~ NEVER ENDING..

Following on from last post, i am still busy painting lots of my bits & pieces...

Finished covering the lamp shades...

and today i am starting to put together a little vignette of what I shall be taking to the shabby vintage junk fair...

I do this on a table tennis table in the centre room of our house..so it gives me a good indication of what I am doing!!~~ or TRYING to do!!~~

Everything shown in the photos are op shop/flea market finds which I have painted/stencilled/"doilied" (my own word) ...

LOTS more to do...so better say "hooroo" & back to the paintbrush..

EASTER FRIDAY JUNK MAKEOVERS!!~~

Happy Easter ladies~~

My Good Friday is ONE BIG day of painting and getting my vintage goodies ready for the next SVJ fair in June..

A few posts ago i mentioned i had turned my laundry into my crafting space..

I LIED ~~~ Unintentionally of course!!

It has now gradually moved several hundred metres into my kitchen!!

Don't ask me why, it just kind of happened that way..

(well just over this LONG weekend ??)..

ANYWAY...shall show some BEFORE photos of my goodies & their progress re being transformed...

1... apricot "60's leather stool ...

re painted & recovered with LOTS of crochet doilies..

2...Horrid pair lamp shades...

work in progress...part painted & covering in vintage crochet doilies..

3...The pink suitcase from a few posts ago...

finished painting & lightly stencilled with a PARIS stencil..in very light grey/silver....smudged a tad to look a bit more vintage..

4...The OLD green leather shopping trolley...

painted white & handle covered in crochet doiley/string & my handmade butterfly cards...

PLUS my other lot of doilies i stiffened have come up a REAL TREAT..

(I have a new product coming from the USA re stiffening doilies..so shall fill you in on that when i get it & try it..re embellishing the wooden handle..)

Also LOVING my LOT of handmade cards ...all cut out by me in heavy duty cardboard and then embellished with vintage french dictionary pages/music sheets..

finished off with some vintage crochet bits & bobs..tied with heavy duty string/cute little pegs..

I have LOTS of other frames & pieces..BUT won't bore you with all that...

SOO I am flat out (as Tamarah would say.."like a lizard drinking")..

with paint probably all over the computer keys!!

Hi ladies....

my eldest son has had a LONG time school friend stay with him this past weekend.

She came from Japan when they were both in Year ONE ...

She has stayed here in OZ ever since...

Whilst her parents are still in Tokyo..(in between lots of visits of course)..

Miss CHIZZA (as I call her)...is now a primary school teacher..

She & my son have been LONG TIME buddies...

Each exploring EACH others culture...with stints in Japan for my son with her family..

What a fabulous lovely lifelong friendship they have achieved..

& look what MISS CHIZZA cooked/left for Mr B to see upon her leaving his hospitality... ..

A big thank you ... cut out .... in Biscuit forms....

BUSY ORGANISING "STUFF" THIS SUNNY SATURDAY~~~

Today I have finally cleaned and organised "stuff", to have some semblance of order!!

I have been busy cleaning the house from top to toe (well ALMOST)~~

Finally purchased some easter daisies!! & some tulips...

also put out some LITTLE easter eggs..(some in one of the crochet doilies i mentioned in a couple of blogs ago that i was endeavouring to stiffen....

HEY THEY STIFFENED UP A TREAT...so the sugary mixture is a SUCCESS...

Placed some of SOOTy's little toys on the window ledge..(not that he can see them)..!! per his blindness..but they look cute!!

Mr C is 22 yrs old on Monday so i have "retrieved" he & his older brother's "Thomas the tank engine" little walking toys they had as babies..

Bit of nostalgia..I have placed them strategically on the table tennis table so as when Mr C comes home tonight, he can have a bit of a giggle??

or positively think his mum has gone quite silly...?? (probably will think the latter)..

AND MOST important of all..

I have decided to make my laundry my crafting area leading up to the SVJ fair in early June..

I can paint my cases...decoupage my "balls"...paint pegs...make cards/dye my lace..without making a BIG mess throughout the rest of the house..

Off now to give SOOTY a nice bath...
