Hi ladies..
Well, I must say I have been a very scared shopper this past week...
Whilst walking down my LOCAL shopping strip, I have been attacked NOT once, NOT twice, NOT three times BUT FOUR times by a little bird...~~
Hey, I am a nature lover...
I know they are protecting their nest/young chicks...
But these birds are NOT native AUSSIE birds...
THEY attack our native birds..
let alone ATTACKING me whilst shopping!!
So I am ONE grumpy person....
being attacked from behind..pecking & lodging in my head...& Squawking AD NAUSEM in a HIGH pitch whilst pecking my head!!
WITHOUT NOTICE...
By some imported bird.... an "INDIAN MYNAH"~~~
I am literally very scared at the minute walking in my local shopping centre!!
I love birds , but i wish these would fly FAR FAR away~~~~~~
xx andrea

Eeek Andrea! That would freak me out completely. Not sure what to suggest as I'm guessing a bike helmet is not what you want to be wearing whilst doing your shopping!

I don't like the sound of that!
Indian Mynah's are very bold, I've seen the ones around us chase Guss away from his food, they actually come inside our house to do so!
I think a bike helmet whilst walking down your lOCAL shopping strip would be best....!!
Is that what they are?! I get a pair of them EVERY year in my front yard and they would attack the kids as they walked to the bus stop. I had Lisa running back home all distressed as they wouldn't leave her alone, so I would have to walk her to the bus stop. I'd just wave my arms like a raving lunatic to scare them!!! A helmet sounds good or some sort of hat might look better..lol! take care, literally, Maryann
Oh Naughty Birds they are1 They apparently raid nests too1
I see bike riders with helmets with Garden ties sticking out everywhere to stop Bird swooping!
hey you still got the same email....I have emailed you on and off are you getting them?
Hi Andrea,
Just found you c/- lovely Pam.
Thos Mynah's are a pest. You may need to carry an umbrella so you can give them a swat next time they bother you.
Sonia :)
Oh Andrea, you poor thing. I have heard stories of these birds poking kids in the eyes. They are vicious. Lucky it only lasts until the chicks leave the nest.
Oh Andrea those Indian Minors are a pain in the butt. They are forever coming around our place too. Think they should be gotten rid of by any way we can.
I have trouble with them pooing on my deck and outdoor furniture.
We even went to the extreme of buying one of those owls to try and scare them off - didn't work
