OH MY GOSH!! HEADING DOWN MEMORY LANE!!

Hi ladies...

just a short post...for a change...(well re reading it...it is NOT SOO short after all)..

anyway whilst doing my usual clean up...ebay listing etc..

FOUND these gems tucked away in a box in my store room..(still dont know what has happened with ALL the AVON perfume i had stored....i think it must have been thrown out...)..

anyway...this is just a LITTLE glimpse of what my wonderful NANNA used to buy for me...(she died at age 86...when I was JUST pregnant with Christian...so must be about 21 yrs ago...)....she would have been 106/7 yrs old THIS YEAR!!

I will never forget the day she passed away...as i rang her to see if she would like me to cook some scones for her...and my dad answered...

I said what are you doing there ... where is nan..?? & he said OH she is not here at the minute...she has gone away/...
I knew immediately something was SUS...dad was just trying to protect me ... as i was newly pregnant...BUT nanna had passed away...at 86 yo...

I was devastated...she was the funniest lady...full of life...criticising everyone...LOVED THE TV SHOW.... PERFECT MATCH!!). WHeRE they joined up couples....she would laugh at this show ... it was the funniest thing..my nan at her age..laughing at the young couples trying to find a mate....she thought it was hilarious!!

PLUS she would ring me to say..."YOUR RABBIT IS READY""....I will not even endeavour to cook a rabbit...my mum hates it...BUT I LOVED IT...i introduced my hubby to this dish..and HE LOVED IT AS WELL...

I can still remember with clarity...NANNA ringing me & saying..."YOUR RABBITS READY"!
ITS funny...I always thought nans decor stuff was just SOOO daggey.!! BUT it is all now TOTALLY SHABBY CHIC...vintage...gorgeous stuff..

OH... and the horrible paintings which i hated...ARE ALL NOW IT!! and the glass ware...& the napery..etc etc...plus her HUGE LOT of faux jewellery...& carnival glass...!!!

anyway...this is just a little snippet of the lovely goodies NANNA bought for me when i was a LOT younger...

I still keep them...cherish them..

I still think of you every day nanna....xx andrea
ps.....
and the scarey thought is that MY MUM...nannas daughter...is NOW 86..nearly 87 yrs old!!...and dad is nearly 86!! soo they are at the age when nanna passed away....I dont want to think about that..
soo time flies...enjoy every minute of your parents/grandparents...
xx andrea

What lovely memories of your Nanna, Andrea. Life is precious and never long enough, so we should never take it for granted.

Great memories Andrea. My Grandma is 88 this December and I dread the day she dies. I know it happens to us all at some stage but its' bloomin awful. Loved the photos of the gifts she gave you along the way. Kathryn. XX
