I think i am becoming a bit of a BLOGGING JUNKIE!! oh well! keeps me thinking about something to write...and i HOPE NOT TOO BORING for all you Lovely ladies out there!!

at LEAST I know my son in JAPAN frequently checks in to see what MUM is up to...so at least he may be interested!!
OKAY...well I am kind of doing a BIG clean up of cupboards etc IN ALL rooms of the house...going through one by one...AND chucking out stuff...(actually giving most to the local op shop who love it!!)...

soooo whilst cleaning out one drawer...found these GORGEOUS cards...which i had totally forgotten about...

Two are for my 21 st birthday..(some ..mmm how old am i this year?? 52...so that must be some 31 years ago!!??...ooooooohhhh how I hate to admit that!)..

anyway....found this gorgeous card from my "NANNA"..mums mum...who died at 86 yo when i was pregnant with christian some 20 yrs ago...
and that is her lovely old vintage writing...kids dont write like that these days!!

SHE must have known I was going to be a shabby chic rosey pinkey girl!!
AND another card from my AUNTIE...all along the same theme!! they must have known something in advance..
And of course some lovely cards from my mum..
BUT i JUst have to say...I absolutely ADORE the Christmas card my hubby gave me.
it is ALL 3 dimensional...with the lovely black DRESS (velveteen).....pink ribbon..handbag..shoes...HOW TOTALLY AWESOME IS THIS FOR A CHRISTMAS CARD???
A BIT outside the square...but something i really just CHERISH...,(wont go into what he wrote inside for me!!)....

SOO just searching through stuff...found these lovely cards...brought back lovely memories...
AND I FOUND these OLD OLD OLD photos of myself & my now 46 yo cousin on our OLD OLD holidays back in the OLDEN DAYS!!!

OHHH HOW FUNNY DO I LOOK IN MY LITTLE SHORTS..?? bathing cap?? WHEN I WAS ABOUT 6 YO?
MEMORIES ARE A WONDERFUL THING.

What wonderful memories for you everytime you look at the cards.
It must be the time for cleaning and non stop visits to the op shop.
We have had new carpet put down which means everything had to be emptied out of wardrobes, cupboards etc. so I have certainly decluttered.

Isnt it great that something like cleaning out cupboards and drawers can lead to you finding these good old memories. I really should do the same thing as i confess almost every drawer and cupboard here is stuffed full & in disarray!! You are a good role model Andrea, i will start today and attempt 1 at a time! Have to do get my younger daughters school uniform, this is going to cost a fortune! Loved your cards + photos, Mel xxx

I love old black and white photos they have such character. Its nice to look back on old cards, makes the mundane chore of cleaning out cupboards worthwhile..

Hi Andrea
Looks like you had a fabulous time in Japan, bet you are now glad you did go!
You are a 56 or 57 baby? I am the latter, my hubby is a 56.

I will be also doing a big clean up, we also are getting new carpets in our bedrooms (read the same comment above), so not looking forward to it!

Hi Andrea
Loved your memories! My fav was the card your Nanna gave you on your 21st Birthday.
I bet the Op shop welcome you with Open Arms!

Also loved the "Old Fashioned" photos.....that's a nice way of describing us old girls over 50!....Much nicer than "Old Bags"

Hey Andrea,
Trying real hard to catch up on all the posts I have missed out on & what a great one to read! Just love all the old fashion cards, my Mum kept all my early birthday ones & whenever I look at them I cannot help thinking how prettier things were WAY back then. Keep up the posting Sweet, need to jump over & see your listings!
Been missing you.

Have a great day
