GRUMPY RE COOKING FISH & CHIPS ..OILY MESS!! OH WELL..TASTES GOOD IN THE END!!

HI AGAIN LADIES...WELL I AM A BIT GRUMPY AT THE MINUTE AS I AM COOKING HOME MADE FISH & CHIPS FOR DINNER...THAT IS ALL GOOD AS I BUY LOVELY FRESH FISH FROM OUR LOCAL FISH STORE..CUT MY OWN CHIPPIES....BUT...WENT TO GO TO COOK THE CHIPS..AND THE OIL WAS CRAPPY!!
I ONLY CHANGED THIS OIL LAST WEEK..BUT IT SEEMS THAT ONE LOT OF COOKING IS SENDING IT PSYCHO!! AS WELL AS ME!!
I HAVE A DEEP FRYER BUILT INTO THE KITCHEN UNIT..AND IT IS GREAT..EXCEPT I HATE/DETEST DRAINING THE OIL AND RE FILLING IT...IT IS SUCH A MESSY/OILY YUKKY YUKKY THING...
I FIGURE THAT IS WHAT IT MAY BE LIKE BEING A MOTOR MECHANIC!!
ANWAY...SOOO OFF TO THE SUPERMARKET..AGAIN...TO GET NEW SUNFLOWER OIL..
BUT THE CHIPPIES AND FISH WILL BE \YUMMY!! JUST HAVING A WHINGE ABOUT IT..

BEAUTIFUL SUNNY MELBOURNE CUP DAY....GLORIOUS...SO I HAVE JUST BEEN SITTING AT MY LITTLE EBAY TABLE...LOOKING ACROSS TO MELBOURNE..AND ENJOYING THE HOLIDAY HERE IN MELBOURNE...QUITE SILLY REALLY THAT THE STATE COMES TO A STOP BECAUSE OF A HORSE RACE..
BUT I GUESS THAT IS JUST ANOTHER LITTLE FEATURE WHICH MAKES AUSTRALIA THE WONDERFUL COUNTRY THAT IT IS!! WOULDNT SWAP LIVING HERE FOR QUIDS!!

I AM ALSO SOO GLAD THAT THE VICTORIAN GOVT HAS FINALLY INSTALLED WONDERFUL BIG AUSSIE FLAGS/VIC FLAG ON THE WESTGATE BRIDGE...THEY ARE FLYING HIGH TODAY!! I LOOK AT THEM EVERY DAY FROM MY WINDOW..

I AM DRYING THE ROSES I HAD ON MUMS BIRTHDAY TABLE...SHOWN A PHOTO WITH ALL THE OTHER DRIED ROSES I HAVE ...LOVE DRIED ROSES AND LAVENDER..AN OBSESSION!!

THE ONLY OTHER PROBLEM IS JUST HOW TOTALLY DRY MELBOURNE/VICTORIA IS...I HAVE INCLUDED A PHOTO OF WHAT USED TO BE A LOVELY POND ACROSS THE ROAD FROM ME..THE SWANS USED TO BE THERE EN MASSE...NOW IT IS DRAINED..DRY...AND A LITTLE BOY WAS RIDING HIS BIKE AROUND IT LIKE A MINI VELADROME!
OUR DAMS ARE AT 33% CAPACITY FOR A POPULATION OF ABOUT 4 MILLION!! VERY SCARY...SO PLEASE LET US HAVE SOME RAIN!!!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST..HAVENT SHOWN SOOTY FOR A WHILE..HE HAD A CLIPPING A FEW WEEKS AGO...BUT IS NOW STARTING TO LOOK A BIT MORE RESPECTABLE...!! I LUV YOU SOOTMAN!!

TAKE CARE EVERYONE..XX ANDREA

Hi Andrea - that is very luxurious having a deep fryer built into your kitchen! Sounds yummy though! You have a lovely outlook - hope you get some rain soon - we have been having plenty and dam is @ 95% (still on water restrictions though), Mel xxx

Hi Andrea,
Sorry that I missed your last post, Belated birthday wishes you your beautiful mum. Your table looked just stunning, what a lovely place to sit & chat. I loved the pic of your apron, what a wonderful son.
I had to laugh when I saw the tv on your kitchen bench, when Adam bought the kids a bigger tv for their games consoles, I nabbed the smaller one to put in the kitchen, that way I can't miss any news or even better Neighbours when I am cooking dinner!.
Hope you have a fantastic week,
Sarah xxx

Those dried roses look gorgeous.
Might have been easier to buy take away after all that! Your kitchen looks great.
How did you manage to get the I luv your blog thingy from Lyn to show on your blog? I can`t do it, I have tried and I have no idea what to do!

Hiya
I think Lyn is away at the moment, so I`ll just wait. At least you managed to get the icon to show, I can`t even do that.
Have a great evening
Rose
PS What did we have for dinner tonight?

Hi Andrea,
I got your message about your Christmas decorating delema. I personally think you should decorate the house as normal. I think you should either buy or even better still, make a Christmas decoration, in memory of your beautiful cousin. She may not be here to share it with you, but each time you look at it, it will remind you of all the wonderful times you shared together. A lady I work with lost her beloved husband about 6 years ago & she has told me numerous times that she wishes more people would talk about him, rather than pretend that he never existed.
I hope this helps...think of it as decorating & therapy all rolled together!

It is terribly scary about our water storage isnt it. Mind you it rains so much up here in Olinda you would never know there was a problem!! Fabulous view from your home, I think I know where you are, we are up your way from time to time and would have driven right past!
