WHAT TO PLANT/DO?? ON MY BEDROOM BALCONY!!

WELL MY BIRTHDAY IS NOW DONE & DUSTED FOR ANOTHER YEAR...AND YES THAT WAS A LOT OF FRUIT IN MY DAD'S CAKE..1.5KILOS IN FACT...BUT THAT IS WHAT THE RECIPE CALLED FOR..AND DAD DOES LOVE HIS FRUIT!!

BOY YESTERDAY WAS MUCH HOTTER IN MELBOURNE THAN FORECAST..I THINK IT REACHED ABOUT 32DEGREES..AND OF COURSE I DID NOTHING MUCH ELSE THAN CLEAN THE HOUSE!! YES AGAIN!!

AND THIS IS MY DILEMMA LADIES...I HAVE INCLUDED PHOTOS OF MY BEDROOM...I HAVE A LOVELY LITTLE BALCONY WHICH HAS A WONDERFUL VIEW...BUT GUESS WHAT?? I NEVER EVER USE IT...

I USED TO HAVE LOVELY LAVENDER IN POTS AND PETUNIAS IN THE BASKET...BUT WITH THE WATER RESTRICTIONS...IT LITERALLY NEVER RAINING IN MELBOURNE..THEY ALL KIND OF CARKED IT!!

AND I HAVENT RE PLANTED OR DONE ANYTHING FOR A FEW YEARS AND LOOKING AT IT YESTERDAY JUST COMPLETELY GAVE ME THE YOU KNOW WHAT..
I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT REPAINTING THE CAST IRON TABLE & CHAIRS..BUT THAT IS A FAIR BIT OF WORK..SO I FIGURED JUST MAYBE A NICE POT OF FLOWERS ON THE TABLE AND THEN MAYBE JUST PLANT SOME HARDY TYPE OF FLOWER IN THE PLANTER ON THE WALL..OR JUST GIVE UP??

ANYWAY..SOOTY ALWAYS LOVES TO RUSH OUT ONTO THIS BALCONY..GIVE ONE BARK AND THEN RUSH BACK INSIDE..THERE IS A PICTURE OF HIM JUST PEEPING OUT BEHIND THE CURTAIN CHECKING UP ON WHAT I AM DOING..

HAVE A GOOD WEEK EVERYONE...XX ANDREA

Ooooooh what a gorgeous bedroom you have, it looks so peaceful. I have spent today painting the decking on my front veranda white & one of the cane tables & have planted petunas in pots. I use the waterwell pots as I find they don't need watering as often. Maybe you could do the same, I even have really big ones out the back & have Hibiscus & Frangipani in them. I hardly have to water them I think they adapt to less water if they have to. Anyway Andrea just a suggestion.
Hope you had a great weekend.

A room with a view..Lovely!
Mabey a cactus sort of succulents garden would work??
You know the nice glaze bowls they do up???
Or alittle water feature tinkling away out there...

Hi Andrea thanks for your kind thoughts for my Dad. We are waiting for more tests to be done to know what we are really dealing with. I am now spending most dayas at Melbourne Private Hospital-next to Royal Melbourne Hospital waiting to see what will happen next.
Love the view from your bedroom balcony
Happy Birthday to you and your dad

I love your bedroom. That balcony definitely needs some work, though, even if just to improve your view and the energy out there.
If it gets enough sun, why not plant geraniums and pelargoniums? There are some lovely colours around - pretty pinks, mauves, whites, etc. I have a beautiful climbing pelargonium (sp?) that is a gorgeous pink. It trails everywhere and hardly gets watered!
Something else I saw, was a big painted panel of a white trellis and ivy screwed to a wall. Looked fabulous!

Hi Andrea, gorgeous house!! I seriously thought that your gorgeous puppy ( all dogs are puppies to me) was a painting!!! I was thinking what a chic painting it was, lucky you said, otherwise I might have been asking you where you got that print from!!
Let me think on the balcony idea, there must be something terribly chic you can do! Speak to you soon, kiss noises Linda Lilly Cottage.
