LAVENDER..ROSES..FLOWERS GALORE..SPRING IS HERE

WELL IT IS ONLY A FEW DAYS SINCE MY LAST POST..BUT I HAVE NEW PHOTOS WHICH I SHOULD HAVE ADDED..BUT I AM HAVING A BIT OF TROUBLE TRYING TO WORK BITS AND PIECES OUT..NOTHING UNUSUAL FOR ME!!

ANWAY AS SAID IN MY LAST POST I BOUGHT SOME LOVELY PRINTS FROM GAIL MCCORMACK..AND HOW NOW WORKED OUT WHERE THEY ARE FEATURING IN MY HOME...
I HAVE HUNG THEM UP IN MY KITCHEN..NEXT TO MY WHITE HUTCH FEATURING MY CROCKERY AND FRENCH TIN SIGNS ETC ...AS WELL AS MY GREAT GLASS JAR FULL OF FAUX APPLES & LEMONS...HOW REAL DO THEY LOOK?

I HAVE ALSO PUT SOME DRIED LAVENDER AND ROSES IN A LITTLE GLASS JAR NEXT TO THESE IMAGES TO CREATE A LITTLE STORY..

THE COLOUR OF THE DRIED ROSES IS JUST SOO GORGEOUS..SOO BEAUTIFULLY SUBTLE..

I ALWAYS BUY ROSES WHICH HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BUT LITTLE DIFFERENT COLOUR..AND THEN HANG THEM TO DRY..AND THEN PLACE THEN SOMEWHERE THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE...

I HAVE A LOVELY LOT IN A VINTAGE FRENCH TIN ITEM I PURCHASED ON EBAY FROM A SELLER IN FRANCE..AND THEY LOOK GREAT ON MY ANTIQUE HALL STAND SITUATED AT THE TOP OF MY STAIRCASE LEADING INTO MY KITCHEN..
I JUST ADORE LAVENDER AND WHEN IN SEASON..BUY HEAPS AND HEAPS AND DRY IT .. AND HAVE IT IN MY BEDROOM....LAUNDRY..KITCHEN ...EVERYWHERE!!

I LOVE LAVENDER...SUNFLOWERS...OF COURSE ROSES...plus i also bought some jonquils today..as it is nearly the end of the season and they are sitting in a nice french blue jug in the corner window of my kitchen..

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST..HAD TO SHOW YOU A PHOTO of PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST RESILIANT FLOWERS AROUND...AS IT NEVER RAINS IN MELBOURNE...OUR DAMS ARE STILL AT JUST 33% capacity..we can only water 2 days a week between the hours of 6 - 8 am...HELLO!! i dont have to get up that early anymore with no children having to get TO school..have done that for 15 years..so I am lazy and sleep in until 8.30am..and as much as i love to have a nice garden..I just cannot GET UP that early to water...(yes I am lazy...dont remind me!!)..SOO these GORGEOUS PLANTS..SURVIVE WITH NO WATER..AND STILL ARE SOO KIND TO ME THAT THEY BLOOM..WITH THEIR BRIGHT ORANGE FLOWERS...AND MAKE MY ENTRANCE TO MY HOUSE..LOOK SPECTACULAR..HOW FANTASTIC ARE THESE PLANTS??

ANYWAY...A QUITE WARM DAY IN MELBOURNE TODAY..BUT WITH THOSE DREADED STRONG NORTH WINDS..I GUESS THAT IS SPRING SEPTEMBER IN MELBOURNE...LOOKING FORWARD TO A LONG HOT..NO RAIN..SUMMER!!

Spring is heading your way. I'm jealous. I hate it when it gets so dark so quickly at night.

Ok Andrea now you have put ME to shame! I have so much Lavender in my front gardens & never pick it to dry! The same can be said for my roses, I usually leave them on the bush (or pick one or two of each) because I love to sit on my verandah & just look at them. So from now on will be picking them & drying them. I just love what you have done with the paintings, her working is just so beautiful. Hey listen if you need any help with your page just let me know OK. Oh yeah your plants out the front are called Clamidiads - not sure of the spelling here - I have one little one down in my back garden, they cost an arm & a leg, so lucky lucky you.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks Andrea for showing us how you displayed the artwork, love the way you created a story, I am very proud to have them hanging in your beautiful home!
Yes very blowy today - blowing a Gale indeed!
I think you are doing well with figuring out your blog, look at the way you've grouped your photos...well done.
I can imagine how you would be missing your boys, I felt the same when my two left home...hmmm though... they kept coming back, then going, then back....gee, only one is living at home at the moment, the other one is living not far away, I must say when he was working around Australia I sure did miss him, but what a great opportunity for your son

I love them in a nice jug! They have the cheeriest of faces.

Hey Andrea, Your blog is looking gorgeous! I love the prints you bought from Gail, she is so amazing and sweet isnt she. They look great where you've hung them too.

I love lavender, i had a hedge of it at my old house and i really miss it. It looks so pretty dried in bunches.

Hope you have a great rest of the week!
