BUSY SATURDAY...PAINTING/STENCILLING & DYEING LINEN!!!

Hello ladies....I have been busy getting some more bits & bobs ready for my JUNK fair..

I am endeavouring to get MOST of want I want to sell organised...& then be able to figure out what to list on ebay..LET alone my NEW WEBSITE..."The Vintage Hatbox"...(still in development ....BUT nearly there!!)...~~~~~

so I am taking things ONE step at a time...& you know what...??

for ONCE i am making some progress!!! well in my eyes anyway...!~~~~~~

I have had this little cupboard for ages and it was a deep salmon colour...

I have painted it white (photos show it PINK??...but it is definately white UNLESS i am totally colour blind!!)..

I have painted the drawer "DULUX Island SEA"...I kind of just had a fetish for this colour..which is a kind of deep sea blue colour...

(so i think with the time of day & my less than perfect camera..photos are NOT accurate re colour...but hope you get the drift of what i am doing/done)...~~

I have stencilled paper doileys over door...

Painted some canvases & stencilled similar doiley patterns on them..in alternate colours..AND I hand dyed some vintage lace doilies to match the DULUX colour...
(they have turned out a treat...almost the same colour)!!!

SO I have had quite a productive saturday...from painting...stencilling paper doilies...dyeing linen...& collecting the GORGEOUSLY CUTE VINTAGE LITTLE ladder I purchased on ebay to use as a display item re my fair...

amongst looking after dad & cooking...!!!

ORGANISING MY VINTAGE FLEA JUNK MARKET STALL!!

Hello again ladies..

I am still getting ready for the wonderful VINTAGE SHABBY FLEA MARKET extravaganza fair which I am a stall holder in August...in Melbourne...

I still have dad staying with us and looking after him until he has to go back into hospital next thursday to try to fix his knee...

so whilst home I am kind of getting things organised for this fair..

Whilst I did own a gift shop for some 10 years...actually displaying at a fair as such IS A MUCH bigger task than ONE may realise..

Okay..when I had my shop...items were delivered...had heaps of space to unpack...price..display...

OMG...with a fair...I have all items at home....trying to THINK of how i could/can display gorgeous goodies in a 3 x 2 metre space...!!

How I transport all items from home to the location?? truck?ute?...trailer??

How I make my stall look totally awesome??

AND how to display my goods?? on tables..?? sideboards?? etc etc..

It is soo much MORE involved than I think anyone really imagines...

sooo that is what I am working on...at the minute...

re display ..... what i am selling..pricing etc...

photos are JUST a HINT of what I am intending to sell...

displayed on my table tennis table..in the middle room of my home.. so as i can visualise & price at the same time..

It is a BIG PROCESS indeed!~~~~~~~~~

hoping NOT too boring for you ladies to read through.!!!

HAND SEWN VINTAGE WHITE HANKERCHIEF BUNTING!! I HAVE BEEN BUSY!!

Hi ladies....another little goodie i worked on today...!!~~~~~

Had heaps of VINTAGE white hankies...& bought some white cotton edging..

OKAY...this was an AD HOC....spur of the MOMENT..

"how do i make a bunting with VINTAGE hankerchiefs??

I placed the "cotton" edging flat....pinned 5 x vintage hankies thereon...(i ironed them to be in half...so the FULL hanky is used per each "flag")...

My sewing machine is tucked away in my wardrobe & i havent used it for at least 12 years...
And YEs I am a total woos & far too scared to bring it out to try to sew anything..

SOO I sewed all the hankies by HAND...

finished off with VINTAGE cream/white buttons along the way...

This is the first of a FEW mixed lot I am intending to make for my SHABBY FLEA JUNK FAIR in AUgust....

I am quite happy with the result...(& the fact that it is hand sewn!! cough cough...that makes it legitimate in my eyes..NOT PERFECT...if you get my drift)..

anyway...what do you think??
ALL comments are welcome...

ps...dad is still hobbling along...fingers crossed his new surgery next week is succesful...

I found a lovely roses "painting" today at the op shop...per photo..

Adding bits & pieces every day to my stall....I am optimistic it will look totally FABULOUS!!!~~~????????? cough cough...!!!!!!!!!
